| WE'VE CHOSEN THE BEST BOOKIES FOR THE 2006 GRAND NATIONAL
We always endeavour to bring you the best betting advice at Premium Betting News and as promised, we have reviewed all of the online bookies and chosen the best for the 2006 Grand National.
The first thing to note is that almost every online bookie has a free bet offer running almost permanently. With the exception of the first week of April when some firms drop their free bet offer altogether, specially for Grand National week.
It's no secret that free bet offers exist as an incentive to customers to stay with one company and it's even less of a secret that there are a multitude of punters out there who bet on one race a year and therefore will almost certainly never use their account again. These two factors form the basic reasoning of the firms who have suspended their free bet offers for this week.
So the first thing that we considered when selecting our chosen bookies was whether they are keeping their special offers running for the National and of course, our three selections are. So if you are going to bet on this race and this race only, you can effectively get yourself two bets for the price of one.
You will get a minimum of a £10 free bet with any of our chosen bookies plus more if you continue to use your account beyond the National. Bet365 for example will give you a £100 free bet basket. You get an initial £25 with more free bets dropping in as you use your account. Total Bet will give you a £10 free bet immediately and another £15 after you have placed more bets with them and you'll get a free £10 from Coral as well.
Another factor that we took into consideration was whether the odds for next Saturday's big race have actually been released yet. Whilst Coral have had the ante-post adds on their site for many months now, some bookies have not yet made them available at the time of writing (one week ahead of the race) and they scored minus points with us for that.
We usually favour Total Bet for events such as this and the National is no different. Total Bet always seem to have very attractive odds and they are once again true to form with the National. Take Hedgehunter for example, the current favourite for the race. We can name you four bookies who have him at 4/1 already but you can still get 11/2 at Total Bet, a full one and a half points better than some of the competition.
We liked Bet365's Grand National Specials coupon as well. Here's a few examples of some of the more 'off-the-wall' bets that you can get at Bet365
Irish Trained Winner 3/1
Trained By Martin Pipe 10/1
Trained By Ginger McCain 20/1
Trained By A Woman 25/1
Winner To Carry 11st or Above 3/1
Winner To Wear Headgear (exc. Cheekpieces) 10/1
Whatever your selection, the very best of British luck in what is Briain's biggest race and we hope that your selection romps home and pays for your Saturday night out. Please remember that any odds quoted here are valid at the time of publishing but are subject to change. You should double check before placing your bets.
