BORO MANAGER BETTING SUSPENDED 17-5-06

1000: Bookmakers have suspended their markets on the next Middlesbrough manager following reports in this morning's papers that Terry Venables is set for a return to the Riverside.

Venables, who helped guide the club to Premiership safety in 2000/01, is widely regarded as the likely successor to Steve McClaren.

BlueSq (4/5 to 4/9) and Coral (4/5 to 2/5) both slashed their prices on the former England boss earlier but now most markets have been taken down.

Wigan's Paul Jewell was a general second favourite before prices were pulled.
