THE BEAN PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEW 10-9-06
Christopher Bean

West Ham v Aston Villa

West Ham 6/5 - Betfred
Draw 12/5 - Victor Chandler
Aston Villa 5/2 - Total Bet

It is the battle of claret and blue at Upton Park on Sunday afternoon as the Hammers take on Aston Villa which could be a very interesting clash in front of the Sky television cameras.

The big news in the last fortnight for West Ham is of course Roy Carroll being sidelined with a groin injury during Northern Ireland's 3-2 victory over Spain, which means Robert Green will take his place.

The East Londoners will also be giving debuts to some unknown Argentinean players. Apparently they are the next Carlos Marinelli and Gustavo Lombardi! Stilian Petrov will make his debut for Aston Villa, and Milan Baros should make the substitutes bench after a foot injury.

All the media attention will be on Tevez and Mascherano on Sunday, and I believe it is written in the books that one of them is bound to score. Those two signings could be a catalyst of great things at Upton Park and a 2-1 victory will just be the start of it.

Prediction - 2-1 to West Ham

Best odds for a 2-1 West Ham win are 9/1 with Betfred
