The new season is nearly upon us and here's a cracking piece from Stuart Thompson to help you get you right in the mood...
So here comes the season,
Upon us quite soon,
A magical era,
Our spring is in Bloom.
In Gate we have foresight,
A professional touch,
He'll deliver togetherness,
That's needed so much.
Disciplined methods,
Examples being set,
Steve G's aspirations,
Are soon to be met.
We'll move on together,
With twelfth man behind,
This team will drive forward,
Attack on the mind.
Of course we recruit,
And some have moved on,
But the shackles of survival,
Have finally gone.
We have fire at the front,
A rapier thrust,
With Yak and the Duke,
Twenty each is a must.
In the belly, the fire,
Is ignited of course,
The Catt and the Boat,
Ferocious in force.
And then Rocky's pure class,
Will shine out like a light,
And provide ammunition,
To our weapons of might.
And then, from the width,
With direction inspired,
More titanium bullets,
From the barrel be fired.
But we're losing great strength,
At the back, you might say,
Our intelligent leader,
Now dictating the play.
So who will replace,
Such wisdom of mind,
What visionary player,
Could we possibly find?
Fear not, for this person's
Already in place,
With predictive awareness,
And great thinking pace.
Riggs is the future,
Who'll lead from the back,
He'll be there when we need him,
Should our fortress look cracked.
But who can support him,
His bodyguard chief,
We need a bulldozer,
To deliver some grief.
So when they approach us,
And threaten our youth,
We'll unleash our H-Bomb,
The violent HUUUUUTH.
And right at the death,
Should their rapiers gain,
Our guardian angel,
Will save us again.
So Come on Mighty Boro,
Be viciously good,
We'll be there right behind you,
And baying for blood.
With no Euro invasions,
To test our fatigue,
This season, My Boro,
Give us Champions League!!
