THIS WEEKEND'S PREMIERSHIP PREVIEW
Christopher Bean

Hello my fellow Boro chums. PRF here to take you through the exciting line up of Premiership action (and Sunderland) coming up this weekend.

Firstly a quick comment on last week, it was a great result for Boro at the Hawthorns and it looks like we have shaken the "European hangover" curse that we have had since we have been on our continental adventure, and good riddance! Also I put my prediction curse on poor Wigan, I feel like a right mug predicting them to win the Carling Cup, but meh.

West Brom v Chelsea

First up this weekend is Captain Marvel pitting his wits against The Special One. But us Boro fans know that Robbo has not got a lot of wits to put up against Jose, West Brom have been rocked by the news that Nigel Quashie will be suspended for kicking The Boat in his lower back. I am actually surprised Quashie didn't break his toe as our George is made of steel. There is not much hope for the Baggies as Chelski will want to get a good win under their belts before they fly off to Barcelona.

Prediction- Chelsea 2-1

Chelsea 2-1 is 15/2 with Total Bet

Aston Villa v Portsmouth

Portsmouth has been pretty rubbish in the last couple of months, as their last win was back on New Year's Eve, and Harry Redknapp is desperate for a win. And it may well happen this weekend as Villa have been indifferent all season. If Harry's lads can get a win they will still have an opportunity for survival and drag Villa back into the relegation dog fight. Actually this sounds better the more I type. Can you imagine Doug Ellis's face if he has to see his team go to Gresty Road in the pouring rain? So yes a Portsmouth win. You can also expect David O'Leary to complain about his seat being cold and his obvious discomfort distracting his player's performance.

Prediction- Portsmouth 1-0

Portsmouth 1-0 is 10/1 with Total Bet

Fulham v Arsenal

If Fulham could have won some matches away from home this season they would be riding high in the top six, as they have been shit hot at the Cottage this season. Arsene's Arses have been piss poor away from the Library so with the form book you would tend to tip a home win. But I am going against the book and going for a draw. On a side note however there are reports that Arsenal are bidding for Yakubu at the end of the season. Well I tell you what Wenger, you can keep your hands off The Yak. Find your own goal machine unless you offer at least £20M.

Prediction- 1-1

A 1-1 draw is 11/2 with Total Bet

Middlesbrough v Birmingham

It's another big game for our boys on Saturday with the lads from the Brum visiting the Riverside. Our confidence is riding high at the moment, after progressing through to the next rounds of the UEFA and FA Cups and we have taken that form into the league by beating the Baggies. The history books also favour us as we have a 100% record against The Blues on our home patch in the Premiership. Birmingham are there for the taking and I am very confident we can take the three points. After all that build up, I bet we get beat now...

Prediction- Boro 2-0

A 2-0 Boro win is 11/2 with Total Bet

Newcastle v Bolton

After Freddie Shepherd's bi-annual "chop the boss extravaganza" the barcodes have been on tip-top form. Glenn Roeder has managed to convert a team which could rival the mafia for criminal records into a team that can win matches. However Big Sam's men have become masters of frustrating football so it has 0-0 written all over it as Newcastle have no recognized strikers fit at the moment. It also means we could only be three points behind the Magpies by Saturday tea time.

Prediction- 0-0

A 0-0 draw is 8/1 with Total Bet

West Ham v Everton

The Toffees have managed to get themselves out of trouble in the last couple of months and are pushing for a top ten place. West Ham's rich vein of form has catapulted them into contention for a European spot. But I am thinking the Hammers are soon going to get a nose bleed from vertigo and this is where their decline will start so another one-nil win for David Moyes's team.

Prediction- Everton 1-0

A 1-0 Everton win is 8/1 with Total Bet

Liverpool v Charlton

Liverpool bore the pants off me so I am not going to write about them. Charlton however are quite a quirky team and are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde. The Addicks beat the hot-wirers earlier in the season but I cannot see them winning at Anfield. Hopefully they will get a few injuries before our visit to the Valley next weekend. Speaking of Charlton, why the hell can't we make it a "double match" like we did back when we were kids where the one match counted as a league and cup match? It would make a lot of sense to me.

Prediction- Liverpool 1-0

A 1-0 Liverpool win is 5/1 with Total Bet

Manchester City v Sunderland

Oh dear, it just gets worse for the poor Mackem's, doesn't it? All their players are dropping like flies, they are on course to get less points than their last Premiership adventure, and they are currently tied on points with their ladies team. So to help them get out of this plight I have set up a registered charity called "Help the Scruffs." For just £5 a month you can help Jonathan Stead kick a ball as we will provide him with football boots, not the Doc Martens he is currently wearing. Details for where to send donations will be added to the site soon. Back to the matter in hand Sunderland are going to lose and Psycho will be happy to get a win at Garlands.

Prediction- Manchester City 2-0

A 2-0 Manchester City win is 11/2 with Total Bet

Tottenham v Blackburn

It's a battle between 4th and 5th at White Hart Lane, which incidentally is the place where Penguin Jack will be crowned Sure's Wildest Fan in April. If you have not done so vote now at http://www.surewildestfan.co.uk. This has the possibility of being a cracker of a match. Oh look, there is the PRF hoodoo again. As their positions suggest both teams are on form but Blackburn have been a bit vulnerable at the back as of late, so I reckon the Spuds to nick it. Just. By the slightest of margins. Just a miniscule of difference between them. Ever so slightly...

Prediction- Spurs 2-1

A 2-1 Tottenham win is 7/1 with Total Bet

Wigan v Manchester United

Well after my gargantuan cock-up of tipping Wigan to win last weekend, I am not tempting fate of predicting the Latics to win this week. At best I think they will be able to scrape a draw, as their confidence must be shattered after getting thumped like that in a Cup Final. Manchester United have seemed to find their footing of late thanks to Louis Saha coming into form. So I will go for a score draw.

Prediction- 1-1

A 1-1 draw is 11/2 with Total Bet

Well that's me done for another week. Hopefully the lads can do us proud on Saturday and well and truly keep us away from the relegation dog fight.

COME ON BORO!!!
