BLACKBURN v BORO ODDS PREVIEW
We are now the dustbinmen of Europe after putting out the trash on Wednesday night but it's back to the nitty-gritty of the Premiership today and a clash on England's green and pleasant Lancastrian land. Well you can stick your ravioli and neaopolitans where the sun doesn't shine as far as I'm concerned because I'd rather have a pie any day of the week!
I am going right against the grain with my recommendation for Blackburn v Boro today. Boro will win this afternoon, simply because we are not expected to. It's that simple. I've gauged the general feeling in the camp and I think that it's fair to say that most Boro supporters would take a draw this afternoon. I'm putting my money on a 3-1 Boro win.
Let's take some factors into account here. It's inevitable that Steve McClaren will make several changes for this afternoon's encounter so tiredness most certainly will not be a factor. Expect Mark Viduka to start and score as he should easily deal with Blackburn's physical approach. There will be several other players out to prove they are worth a first team place as well.
Steve McClaren made a brave and bold team selection for the trip to Charlton last weekend and he was agonisingly close to getting it right and taking all three points. I back him to pull it off today with the only reservation being the strength of what will be a makeshift defence. A five man midfield will probably be capable of shoring up any gaps though.
We have a point to prove against Blackburn today after they beat us twice at Christmas and I expect the team to be up for this one. Motivation is a funny old thing and knocking out the filth of Rome on Wednesday will have elevated us to a new plateau. Subconsciously it will mean that Boro will have the upper hand and although Blackburn will not stand off against us, I expect them to collapse as soon as the first goal goes in.
The bookies are in total disagreement with me as they have made Blackburn red-hot favourites for this one, right across the board. Let's take a look at the Victor Chandler coupon.
Blackburn are priced at 8/11 with a draw at 5/2 and Boro at a massive 7/2. I doubt if Poundstretchers will have better bargains than that today. And it gets even better.
Mark Viduka is a huge 8/1 to score the first goal and my tip of a 3-1 Boro win is priced at an unbelievable 40/1, which will give me a return of £800 for my £20 stake, if and when it comes in.

Finally, let's take a look at the Victor Chandler Blackburn v Boro scorecast. Boro to win 3-1 and Mark Viduka to score first is priced at a ludicrous 180/1. Even if you're feeling a little more conservative than me today, whatever you pick from the scorecast will bring you a massive return. Boro to win 2-0 and Stewey Downing to score first is 210/1 for example.
Whatever outcome you decide to back, the price will be right at Victor Chandler. So good luck and up the Boro! The dustbinmen of Europe, back to take the spoils in Lancashire.
