MIDDLESBROUGH v BOLTON TEAM NEWS

Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer and Ugo Ehiogu both require late fitness tests after picking up knocks in the FA Cup quarter-final on Thursday. Both are expected to play though.

However, Ugo's place could be in doubt if Chris Riggott makes a return. It's unlikely but possible. Tony McMahon is still out with a knee injury.

And that is the extent of Boro's injury worries at the moment. Gone are the days when there were more players in the treatment room than in the dressing room. Even Malcolm Christie is fit but is not named in today's squad.

Bolton's El Hadji-Diouf plays for the first time since picking up a hernia problem on African Nations Cup duty. Umbrellas are allowed in the Riverside stadium.

Bolton have Ivan Campo and Matt Jansen almost back at full fitness but neither will feature today.

Middlesbrough Squad: Schwarzer, Jones, Parnaby, Queudrue, Taylor, Pogatetz, Southgate, Riggott, Ehiogu, Davies, Boateng, Doriva, Downing, Mendieta, Cattermole, Parlour, Rochemback, Morrison, Johnson, Kennedy, Yakubu, Hasselbaink, Viduka

Bolton Squad: Jaaskelainen, O'Brien, Hunt, Jaidi, Ben Haim, N'Gotty, Gardner, Giannakopoulos, Faye, Okocha, Speed, Nolan, Davies, Vaz Te, Diouf, Pedersen, Walker, Nakata, Borgetti

Steve McClaren offered plenty of material for the James Bassett column when he spoke to the press on Saturday.

"They have done well in the league this year and are successful at what they do and play to their strengths. We will have to be on our toes because they are a constant threat. We need to keep the momentum going."

"We've had disappointing results against Charlton and Blackburn in the league and we need to get some more points on the board if we want to be safe."
