CHARLTON v MIDDLESBROUGH TEAM NEWS
The major new concern for the Boro is the fitness of George Boateng, who will undergo a late test on the ankle that got clattered against Roma in mid-week. He is described as 'fifty-fifty' for today's trip to the Valley.
Apart from that Boro have no new injury concerns. Stuart Parnaby is still out with the hamstring injury he sustained against Birmingham last week and long-term injury specialists Fabio Rochemback (ankle) and Malcolm Christie (groin) will of course not play.
James Morrison is still rehabilitating after having problems with his hip but it is hoped he will return to the Boro side by the end of the month.
Charlton are having a slightly worse time of it however. Alexei Smertin is likely to be missing from the squad as he attempts to tie-up a deal with Russian side Dinamo Moscow for his services. Thus Matt Holland and Bryan Hughes are likely to remain as the lynchpins of the midfield.
On the injury front Marcus Bent will be the major absentee as he is still yet to recover from a hamstring injury that is also affecting his back. So expect Jay Bothroyd to make another start for the Addicks.
Dennis Rommedahl is still short of match fitness since returning to the Charlton squad from his rib injury on Monday. He has not yet played one reserve team fixture, his participation in mid-week being postponed. Thus it is likely that Radostin Kishishev and Darren Ambrose will play on the right and left respectively.
Gonzalo Sorondo is also likely to be out with a foot injury.
Neither side have any suspensions.
