COVENTRY v BORO - TEAM NEWS

Brad Jones picked up a groin injury in during Boro's break in Spain and is doubtful. That leaves the door open for a Mark Schwarzer return.

Despite making a recent comback, Ray Parlour has returned to the treatment room where he is joined by James Morrison who is out with a hip injury.

On the bright side, Gaizka Mendieta, Chris Riggott, Matthew Bates and Mark Viduka have all recovered from knocks that were picked up against Wigan.

Tony McMahon could also make a long awaited comeback after playing a midweek reserve game. That leaves only Malcolm Christie, George Boateng and Franck Queudrue as the only long term absentees.

Coventry midfielder Dennis Wise is surprisingly suspended and Stephen Hughes is still out with an Achilles tendon injury, along with Isaac Osbourne who has knee trouble.

Claus Jorgensen is struggling to make the match but defender Robert Page could return wearing a protective mask to cover a fractured cheekbone.

Boro captain Gareth Southgate spoke to the press after returning from Spain. "It's our league form that is the most pressing issue at the moment. There are important games coming up against Coventry and Stuttgart, but the league remains our priority. The situation is not good - but if we are still there in a month, we really will be in trouble. The last thing we want is to be involved in a dogfight."
