McCLAREN ODDS-ON FOR ENGLAND
By Betting Zone

Steve McClaren is the odds-on favourite again, at 4/7 with Coral, to become the next England Manager following the shock news that Phil Scolari had withdrawn his application for the job.

Bookmakers have been saved a major six-figure payout on Scolari having suspended betting on Wednesday when the current Portugal manager had been gambled on from 50/1 down to 1/3.

"This is the betting turn-up of the decade but completely in-keeping with one of the most volatile betting events ever", said Simon Clare, Coral spokesman.

"Punters who followed the Scolari gamble will be gutted as bookies have been saved a six-figure payout, added Clare.

Phil Scolari is second favourite with Coral at 5/1 along with Sam Allardyce while Martin O'Neill is a 6/1 chance and Alan Curbishley is 8/1.

"This is one of the most thrilling betting events I have been associated with and it continues to defy all logic," concluded Clare.
