MIDDLESBROUGH v NEWCASTLE TEAM NEWS

Steve McClaren is sure to rest players after Thursday night's heroics against Basel and ahead of Wednesday night's FA Cup quarter-final replay with Charlton.

Franck Queudrue is doubtful after picking up another dead leg and a head injury on Thursday night.

It is also unlikely that midfielder Lee Cattermole will be ready for a return after missing out on Thursday with an ankle injury.

Who are playing again? Oh yes... Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer returns after being rested last week, despite Newcastle not being in any quarter-finals or semi-finals.

Defender Titus Bramble is available after being out with a hamstring injury but Michael Owen is nowhere near a return yet.

Steve McClaren spoke to the press on Saturday.

"It's a great game to have because the supporters will demand a performance and the players will from themselves and each other. It's a squad game now and we will use that squad on Sunday against Newcastle."

"It's a big game for us. This is a big week for this club - we have started it well, let's continue."

Newcastle defender Peter Ramage showed that despite a turbulent season, the famous Geordie wit is still intact.

"Europe isn't out of our reach. If we keep winning, who knows? If we put wins together, it's so bunched up there, we can be up there in the mix towards the end of the season."

"We took a lot of criticism after the Charlton game, but it was a massive weight off everybody's shoulders to get back to winning ways against Spurs."

Middlesbrough Squad: Schwarzer, Jones, Parnaby, Taylor, Southgate, Riggott, Ehiogu, Davies, Bates, Boateng, Doriva, Downing, Parlour, Rochemback, Morrison, Yakubu, Hasselbaink, Viduka, Maccarone

Newcastle Squad: Given, Harper, Carr, Ramage, Moore, Bramble, Boumsong, Elliott, Solano, Bowyer, Emre, N'Zogbia, Dyer, Clark, Faye, Brittain, O'Brien, Shearer, Ameobi, Chopra
