BORO v STEAUA - BIG MATCH BETTING
There's been disappointment for Boro both on and off the field over the last few days and knowing how the Ironopolis reacts in the face of adversity, I'm backing Boro to do a Van Helsing tonight and knock a few nails into the coffin of the Draculas.
I expect Boro to be galvanised after Sunday's FA Cup semi-final disappointment against West Ham and for Steve McClaren to come out fighting after his claim to Eriksson's throne has been rubbished by the media today and yesterday.
Total Bet agree as well, with Boro priced at a miserly 10/11 for a straight win within ninety minutes. It's not worth it unfortunately but there is plenty of good value to be found elsewhere on the coupon.
You can back Boro to qualify for the final at 6/4 which seems worth it to me. The Dracs are 3/1 to win in ninety tonight and an extremely low 8/15 to make it to the final, which won't happen of course.
With Boro trailing 1-0 after the first leg, the popular scoreline for tonight's encounter at the Riverside is 2-0 Boro, which is priced at 13/2 and has fallen from the 8/1 that it was earlier in the day.
I like 3-1 at 14/1 as well but in truth, the Dracs will have trouble finding the net without the impressive Nicolita who is suspended. You'll also get the same price on 3-0 Boro and with Mark Viduka looking set to start, that is one I might take as Boro know that it could be 'season over' tonight and will demand nothing less than an impressive win of themselves.
Mark is priced at just 9/2 to be the first scorer tonight with the four lowest priced players all being Boro.
But the one that has really caught my eye is from Total Bet's scorecast. You always get generous odds there but this one has to be one of the best of the season.
Mark Viduka to score first and Boro to win 2-0 - 28/1.
You watch Boro go and spoil it for me by scoring a bagful now. But I won't be complaining too much if that happens as I'll be swinging off the lampposts on Linthorpe Road thinking about Eindhoven.
