MIDDLESBROUGH v SEVILLA - BRIGGSY'S ANALYSIS

Unfortunately the game was a great disappointment to every Boro fan and I
agree whole heartedly with the gentleman interviewed on breakfast TV
who stated; "We the fans turned up but the team didn't."
The atmosphere
around the town and surrounding districts was tremendous. Great thanks
should be forwarded to the fans who rightly expected a fight by the team
in return for their own commitment. Alas, this was not forhcoming.
I do
not want to start slagging or charactor assasanating players as that is
not my job but I am sure they, the players, know that they have let the
fans and themselves down and should contemplate how they are going to pay
them back.
I also think that the FA dealt with the appointment of the England
manager's position abbismally. How do they think they can give a man one of
the best jobs in football and not expect it to distract him from the
job at hand, i.e. the most important game in our club's history. Why not make
the announcement after the game?
Finally, respect to Steve Gibson. Everybody well knows that without
this man we would not have a side let alone be able to compete in a
European final.
For the supporters, I sincerely hope that pride can be restored
next season with all the best wishes to the new manager, whoever he may be.
