SUNDERLAND v BORO - MATCH INTRODUCTION
It's the age old battle of the two great foes. No matter what position Sunderland and Middlesbrough find themselves in, when they meet head to head, you can be guaranteed that it will be a clash to savour.
Some are saying that this one is a relegation six-pointer but that's not true really as Sunderland were as good as relegated by mid-September. But it is a game that Boro need to win if they are to avoid joining Sunderland in the Championship next season.
The usual form is for the two sets of fans to hurl constant abuse at each other and to even fight it out when they actually come face to face but we are taking a different approach here at ComeOnBoro.com.
In the name of friendship and respect to a fellow north-east football club, we have decided to begin our match programme with a picture of a loyal Sunderland fan who we felt was deserving of a bit of publicity.
The programme will feature all kinds of match build up with a heavy Boro bias, so if any Mackems would like to redress that, please feel free to write in with your stories of past Boro v Sunderland encounters, or anything that you want to say that you would like us to publish.
