TOTTENHAM v MIDDLESBROUGH - TALE OF THE TAPE by IAN BARKER

Robinson v Schwarzer

The Ashes series is in full swing and we have the two national keepers going head to head. The new stream-lined Skippy, against the former Leeds Stopper. Too close to call, but expect some 'roo punches coming Robbos way!

Robinson 9pts Schwarzer 9pts

Stalteri v Quedrue

Who I hear you ask? Well 28 year old Stalteri hails from Etobicoke, Canada. Expect Stalteri to meet his own Rockies in the form of the French Frank. Fun time Frankie to take the mick and crush his opposite number with a straight knockout!

Stalteri 6pts Quedrue 8pts

Dawson v Bates

Both unproven in the premiership. This could go either way, however I think Dawson may just have the edge here! The former Northallerton born Forest boy just to edge it with a points decision.

Dawson 7½ pts Bates 7pts

Gardner v Southgate

Garnder is no Ledley King and against the old England man, well? Southgate just oozes experience, and knows all the counter manoeuvres that are thrown at him. However Gardner has impressed with each game, but after a proposed move to Charlton falling through, expect the gate to be shut firmly in Gardner's face.

Gardner 7pts Southgate 8pts

Edman v Riezeger

Oh dear, this might be called the non event.... and it is! It's like the Eurovision song contest

Edman 0pts Riezeger 0pts

Routledge v Downing

The great black and white hypes go head to head. Expect a lot of showboating, and whinging to the referee. A lot of action, but with no punches thrown.

Routledge 6pts Downing 6pts

Davids v Boateng

The main event. Double dutch, and we are not talking Edam here. Will Davids sink the boat, or will the boat steal Edgars glasses, and stick one in his eye? Will Davids freeze on his debut? Will he turn up? Rumour has it that Davids is already feigning injury. The Boat has already cast his anchor and weighed in with a big performance last week. Expect a powerhouse of a display from Boateng.

Davids (or sub) 7pts Boateng 10pts

Carrick v Parlour

The Wallsend warrior against the Dimlour! Mmm.. Ray's looking for a big purse from this one but against the Wallsend Warrior he'll struggle to get the payday his missus wants!

Carrick 8 pts Parlour 7pts

Reid v Mendieta

Andy "Robin" Reid versus Gaizka "haircut 100" Mendieta. Expect Mendy to belt out his own version of Nick Heywood's "Fantastic Day".

Reid 6½ pts Miendeta 7pts

Mido v Hasselbaink

Hossam Ahmed Mido will be crying out for his "mummy" after JFH shows him every trick in his locker.

Mido 6pts Hasselbaink 7pts

Defoe v Yakubu

A mis-match, or is it? The diminutive, skilful, England man against the strong, powerful Nigerian. Two completely different styles! Anyone's guess.

Defoe 9pts Yakubu 8 pts

Total scores: Spurs 72 Boro 77 pts

Experience tells again. Boro to win 2-1
