MIDDLESBROUGH v WEST HAM - THE NEUTRAL PREVIEW
By Derek Bilton of Bettingzone.co.uk.

This is a dress rehearsal for next weekend's FA Cup semi-final between the pair and the Hammers look well worth an interest at 15/8.

For this is Boro's fifth game in the space of twelve days and comes at the start of the biggest week in their history - with a UEFA Cup semi-final on Thursday ahead of that FA Cup showdown.

It's therefore no surprise to hear that Steve McClaren will be resting some of his key men - and nor is it a shock that their league form has tailed off in the last couple of weeks, with defeats to Portsmouth and at home to Newcastle.

West Ham got back to winning ways at the weekend against Manchester City to remain bang in contention for a UEFA Cup slot so won't lack motivation and just for good measure they beat Boro in the reverse fixture at Upton Park.

Verdict: Middlesbrough 0 West Ham 2
