BORO v WEST HAM FA CUP SEMI-FINAL - THE OBSERVER PREVIEW
James Bassett
The tired team that took to the field in Bucharest looked like a side
playing their fifty-seventh match of the season.
But while West Ham's poor form
indicates they've been saving themselves for this one, there's plenty
of
evidence that McClaren possesses ample ability to motivate his players
for a
game of such enormous importance.
Given Chelsea and Liverpool's stinginess, it'll be up to us and the
Hammers
to provide the weekend's entertainment, and the quality of both teams'
attackers suggests goals.
In the end, I think we'll find it easier to
shackle Harewood and Ashton than they will Hasselbaink and Yakubu.
Due a big game - Stewart Downing. The perfect opportunity for Downing to prove his worth to England. The
hapless Scaloni shouldn't provide too much resistance.
