SOUTHGATE A MAJOR DOUBT
by Betting Zone

Middlesbrough skipper Gareth Southgate is a major doubt for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against West Ham.

The 35-year-old missed last night's 1-0 UEFA Cup defeat by Steaua Bucharest in Romania with an ankle problem, and is unlikely to recover in time for the game at Villa Park.

Chris Riggott, who was suspended for the European game, returns to the squad, while Mark Viduka (thigh) and Lee Cattermole (ankle) could also be back in contention and Aiyegbeni Yakubu is expected to recover from a dead leg.

West Ham manager Alan Pardew has a fully-fit squad.

Anton Ferdinand has recovered from a hip problem and could come in at right-back with Danny Gabbidon, available after shaking a groin injury, partnering James Collins in the centre of defence.

Left-winger Mathew Etherington has overcome a calf strain while Yossi Benayoun is in line to start after missing the defeat to Middlesbrough on Easter Monday. Pardew must decide whether to start with Shaka Hislop or Jimmy Walker in goal.

Teams:

Middlesbrough (from): Schwarzer, Jones, Parnaby, Bates, Queudrue, Taylor, Riggott, Ehiogu, Wheater, Morrison, Doriva, Boateng, Rochemback, Cattermole, Parlour, Downing, Johnson, Kennedy, Hasselbaink, Viduka, Maccarone, Yakubu, Christie.

West Ham (from): Hislop, Ferdinand, Gabbidon, Collins, Konchesky, Benayoun, Reo-Coker, Mullins, Etherington, Ashton, Harewood, Walker, Scaloni, Clarke, Ward, Newton, Fletcher, Sheringham, Zamora, Katan.
