MIDDLESBROUGH v BLACKBURN ROVERS - TEAM NEWS

Jonathan Woodgate is set to make his home debut for Middlesbrough against Blackburn on Saturday as manager Gareth Southgate reverts to his strongest side.

The England international was one of eight men rested for Wednesday night's Carling Cup defeat by Notts County, and most of them will return against Rovers.

Robert Huth, who made his own debut in midweek, is unlikely to figure, while George Boateng (knee), Stewart Downing (groin), Julio Arca (broken foot), Ugo Ehiogu (Achilles) and Chris Riggott (ankle) are all still out.

Blackburn manager Mark Hughes is likely to be without four key players for the clash at the Riverside.

Striker Jason Roberts (groin) continues to struggle as does midfielder Steven Reid, who has a back problem that led to him visiting a chiropractor this week.

Centre-back Andy Todd has sustained a leg injury in training while striker Francis Jeffers is doubtful through illness.
