MIDDLESBROUGH v BOLTON BETTING ZONE PREVIEW
By David Tindall
Boro's cruise into the fourth round of the FA Cup turned into a rather desperate scramble after Hull fought back from 3-0 down before eventually losing 4-3.
However, that's now seven goals in two games for Gareth Southgate's men and just one defeat in the last seven shows that they've made real improvement.
By coincidence they also won this fixture 4-3 last season although defences dominated at the Reebok earlier in the campaign when the two played out a 0-0 draw.
This is a hard one to assess and the bookies agree with some offering both sides at 6/4. Boro have six home wins this season (seventh most in the division) while only three teams can better Bolton's six away victories.
However, the hosts have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning three and drawing one of the last four.
Boro get the vote while Mark Viduka (9/4) and Aiyegbeni Yakubu (7/4) are decent anytime scorer options.
Aussie Viduka has netted four times in his last four starts while it's seven in nine for Yakubu.
Verdict: Middlesbrough 2 Bolton 1
