Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka is a doubt for Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round trip to Bristol City.

The Australian, who has scored six times in his last five games, is struggling with a hamstring injury and with new signing Lee Dong-Gook not yet available, manager Gareth Southgate faces a choice between playing with a lone frontman or finding a new partner for Aiyegbeni Yakubu.

Skipper George Boateng is suspended after reaching five bookings for the season, although Lee Cattermole is likely to deputise with James Morrison taking over on the right.

City could be facing a striker crisis.

Steve Brooker remains doubtful as he continues to nurse the hamstring strain that forced him off at half-time in last week's 3-0 win at Oldham.

The striker missed the midweek win over Brighton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and a late decision will be made on his fitness.

Phil Jevons is already ruled out with an ankle problem while on-loan striker Wayne Andrews is cup-tied after playing against City for Coventry in the previous round.

Jennison Myrie-Williams is likely to partner Enoch Showunmi up front if Brooker fails to make it.

Elsewhere, Jamie McCombe serves a one-match suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season against Oldham and Brian Wilson is also cup-tied having represented Cheltenham in the competition.

Middlesbrough squad: Schwarzer, Xavier, Woodgate, Pogatetz, Taylor, Cattermole, Arca, Morrison, Downing, Yakubu, Viduka, Jones, Davies, Hines, Euell, Johnson, Christie.
