HULL CITY v MIDDLESBROUGH TEAM NEWS
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate will make a late decision on England defender Jonathan Woodgate ahead of Saturday's FA Cup third-round trip to Hull.
Woodgate limped off with a knee problem in Monday's 3-1 Premiership victory over Sheffield United, and although the injury is limited to bruising, the manager will not rush him back unnecessarily.
Andrew Davies is battling against an ankle problem, and with Chris Riggott (hamstring) and Matthew Bates (knee ligaments) out, right-back Abel Xavier may have to play in central defence as he did after Woodgate's premature departure against the Blades.
Meanwhile Hull boss Phil Brown hopes to have goalkeeper Boaz Myhill available for the FA Cup clash.
Brown will aim to celebrate his appointment as full-time manager until at least the end of the season with a cup upset, but he may be without Myhill who is considered doubtful for the clash.
The highly-rated shot-stopper injured his groin in the 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on New Year's Day and is making a slow recovery. Matt Duke is standing by to deputise.
Midfielder Ian Ashbee is expected to recover from a swollen knee in time for the game, but the injury is not a recurrence of the one which forced him to spend more than 12 months on the sidelines.
Definitely out are Damien Delaney and Dean Marney who will both serve one-match suspensions for picking up five yellow cards this season, while John Welsh (ankle) and Sam Collins (knee) are doubtful.
