ENGLAND PLAYER RATINGS

We rate the England player's individual performances in the 5-0 victory against Andorra.

Paul Robinson: Should be made to pay for his ticket, just like every other spectator in the ground. 6.

Phil Neville (off 65): Found himself on the opposition box far more often than his own. Deputising for his brother, relished his international return. 7.

Ashley Cole: Put his 11th-hour deadline-day move behind him with two early assists. Made full use of his ability to counter-attack and was not required at the other end. 8.

Steven Gerrard: Outstanding, even accounting for the limited ambitions of England's opponents. Threw himself into tackles, produced the full range of his passing skills and smashed home a brutal volley for England's second. 9.

Wes Brown: One of few England players called upon to make a tackle close to the area. It was Andorra's area. Yellow card for foul on Oscar Sonejee, otherwise untroubled. 7.

John Terry: Nothing to do in defence, the England skipper was so desperate to score he deprived Crouch of an open goal. 6.

Owen Hargreaves: May not be starring at Old Trafford on club duty over the next few months but unlucky not to mark his latest appearance on the ground with a goal. Twice hit the post. 8.

Frank Lampard: Will face more testing afternoons in England's engine room. Not the best set-piece delivery and did not score either. 7.

Peter Crouch: Took just four minutes to score his ninth goal in 10 internationals. Eventually made it 10, could have reached 11. Dominant in the air, another good day for the Liverpool man. 8.

Jermain Defoe (off 71): Two goals made a mockery of Sven-Goran Eriksson's decision to make him watch the World Cup on TV. Tottenham man only denied hat-trick by blinding save from Jesus Luis Alvarez. 8.

Stewart Downing (off 65): Andorra's blanket defence offered him little space down the left. Outshone by flank partner Cole. 6.

Aaron Lennon (on 65): Used as a wing-back, created Crouch's second with virtually his first touch. 7.

Kieran Richardson (on 65): Lively display from the speedy Manchester United man. 7.

Andrew Johnson (on 71): Came so close to marking his third England cap with a goal. 7.
