MIDDLESBROUGH v MANCHESTER CITY TEAM NEWS
Gareth Southgate will wait for the result of late fitness tests on George Boateng, Julio Arca and Ayegbeni Yakubu before naming his Middlesbrough side for Saturday's home Barclays Premiership clash with Manchester City.
The Boro confirmed yesterday that Boateng has been unwell all week, while fellow midfielder Arca is struggling with a groin strain and top scorer Yakubu has a tight hamstring.
Southgate may be tempted to rest Jonathan Woodgate ahead of Monday's FA Cup sixth round replay with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce could be tempted to field an unchanged side.
The under-pressure boss is aiming to avoid a sixth straight league defeat and was heartened by a spirited performance in midweek even though they went down to Chelsea.
Goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson is set retain his place between the posts while Emile Mpenza could again operate as a lone striker.
