MIDDLESBROUGH v NEWCASTLE BIG MATCH FACTS

General
This is the 116th Tyne-Tees derby and the 109th in the League.

Boro have only won two of the last twenty against their north-east rivals and only one of these was at home - in March 2003. Newcastle have won twelve, including six on Teesside. They have picked up seven out of a possible nine available points from the Riverside in the last three seasons.

Middlesbrough's Jonathan Woodgate is all set to face his former club.

Middlesbrough
Form: DDLLW

Boro are looking to build on last week's 2-1 defeat of Everton by registering back-to-back wins for the first time in fifteen games.

Have lost four of their eight League games this season.

Have the second weakest defence in the top flight and have yet to manage a clean sheet at home. Boro have only kept one clean sheet all season (at Bolton Wanderers on 16 September).

Have only won once in six League games.

Have not won by more than a single goal in the League in twelve games.

Have conceded more goals at home in the Premiership than any other club (seven). Four of these however did come against Portsmouth back in August.

If George Boateng plays, it will be his 150th appearance for Boro. He scored in both fixtures last season.

Newcastle United
Form: WLDLL

Are hoping to avoid a third consecutive League defeat. They have only picked up one point from the last available twelve.

Have failed to score in three of their four away League games thus far.

Are looking for their first League win in five.

Have dropped eight points from games in which they were leading.
