They won the Championship with a record 106 point tally, have a bright and intelligent manager in Steve Coppell, a settled squad which looks more than capable of holding its own in the top flight and a positive attitude which should pay dividends. An encouraging pre-season has added to the confidence and this match provides them with a decent opportunity to get off to a winning start. For Boro are desperately short on experience - both in terms of rookie manager Gareth Southgate and a young squad. Julio Arca is the only new signing and it's got to be a real worry that Boro have struggled badly in their pre-season games which means the 6/4 about a home win has to be the advice.
