SPURS v MIDDLESBROUGH - BETTING ZONE PREVIEW
Martin Jol refused to blame the ref in their 3-0 defeat at Arsenal despite Spurs being on the end of several dubious decisions.
Instead he chose to focus on his team's own shortcomings and although his honesty is refreshing it's also designed to get a response.
And a home game with Boro offers Tottenham the ideal chance to right the wrongs of their limp performance at the Emirates.
Spurs have won five out of seven at White Hart Lane in the Premiership this season and in all competitions they've won seven in a row in front of their own fans.
That's impressive stuff especially when you consider their victims include Chelsea.
By contrast, Boro haven't won away from home in seven Premiership games and have also lost 2-0 on their last two trips to White Hart Lane.
Spurs are clear favourites of course but the 8/11 still seems a reasonable price given the sheer number of home wins Spurs have racked up.
Gareth Southgate's men did quite well against Manchester United but the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson's men regained the lead within two minutes of Boro equalising showed who was in charge of that game.
The loss of Jonathan Woodgate at half-time was also a serious blow and he will be a big miss if he doesn't make it on Tuesday.
Spurs are the call at 8/11.
Verdict: Spurs 2 Middlesbrough 0
