Both these sides come into the game on 39 points and, with some of the sides beneath them putting on a sprint, both will be anxious to bag at least one more win.

Boro gained a morale-boosting 4-1 win over Watford last time while Villa have steadied the ship with a win and three draws from their last four games.

This fixture has been a good one for Villa in recent years and they've claimed a couple of startling results at the Riverside - 4-0 last year and 5-2 in 2003.

This current Villa side haven't scored more than two in any Premiership game this season so another big win looks extremely unlikely and the safe bet and probably the wise one is the draw.

The two played out a 1-1 at Villa Park earlier in the season and Martin O'Neill's men have drawn 15 of their 33 Premiership fixtures this season.

A point apiece would creep both onto 40 points and psychologically that's always an important barrier to reach.

Verdict: Middlesbrough 1 Aston Villa 1
