SOUTH KOREA v TOGO - THE BEAN PREVIEW
Korea 11/10 - Draw 2/1 - Togo 12/5
The last tournament's hosts and semi-finalists face the inexperienced
African team of Togo in this afternoon's match. This is the first ever
meeting between these two nations, but Togo have not fared well against
Asian
opposition in the past.
They were beaten by Iran last year in the LG
Cup and
were defeated recently by Saudi Arabia in a World Cup warm up match.
The
Togolese are in disarray at the moment as their coach Otto Pfister
resigned
a few days ago.
Both teams have got a full clean bill of health, which has been a
rarity in
this year's competition. Korea are expected to have an attacking
line-up in
what is a must win game for them. Togo is relying on Arsenal young gun
Emanuel Adebayor to lead a bunch of novices.
The bookies do not know who has an advantage in this match and both teams have odds of better than evens. In this scenario it is
possible
to do an arbitrage bet. For more detials of these, see the
no-lose section on Premium Betting News.
Even so I think these odds are an insult to Korea who
were
magnificent in the 2004 World Cup. If they show the class and calibre
from
four years ago they should easily overcome Togo and odds of 18/1 for a
3-1
scoreline are a great price.
But maybe I am completely underestimating
Togo;
they did have to overhaul Senegal in their qualifying group which is no
mean
feat. A 2-1 win at 12/1 seems a good punt.
My prediction Korea wins 3-1 at 18/1
