ITALY ODDS-ON FAVOURITES
Italy are now the odds-on favourites to win the 2006 World Cup after their dramatic semi-final extra-time victory over hosts Germany.
The semi-final in Dortmund looked certain to go to a penalty shootout with the game deadlocked at 0-0 with just one minute left.
But full-back Fabio Grosso curled home a superb left-foot strike in the 119th minute before Alessandro Del Piero made absolutely sure with a stunning second with the last kick of the match.
Stan James
now make Italy 8/11 favourites to lift the trophy.
France take on Portugal in the other semi-final on Wednesday night.
The French are 15/8 at
Stan James
to win the tournament while Portugal are the 9/2 outsiders.
