A trip to Stamford Bridge represents one of the most daunting tasks in the Premier League.

You have to go back seventy-eight games to 21 February 2004 to find Chelsea’s last league defeat on home territory as Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners.

Ironically, the same scoreline, this time in Chelsea’s favour last Sunday, not only dented Arsenal's title ambitions but at the same time the Drogba inspired victory kept alive the Blues' hopes of snatching the league away from Manchester United.

That incentive will certainly not make Boro's task any easier, although Chelsea could kick off on Sunday eight points behind United if Sir Alex Ferguson’s side defeat Aston Villa in the late Saturday kick off.

Boro will travel to London boosted by memories of their last visit to the capital, when Jeremie Aliadiere's goal gave them a well-deserved point at Arsenal. A similar display could provide the platform to cause an upset.

After facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Boro then take on Manchester United at the Riverside but at least they go into a demanding set of fixtures on the back of a 1-0 victory over Derby County that just about secured Premier League safety.

The Boro fans who braved bitterly cold conditions last Saturday were not rewarded with a free flowing display from their side but the result was the most important outcome.

Seven games now remain and the eight-point gap between Boro and the bottom three should enable the side to finish the season on a high note.

Tuncay grabbed the winner against the Rams and then followed up his match winning performance with a goal for Turkey in their 2-2 draw in Belarus.

The Turkish international has shown glimpses this season of what a good player he is and that holds out the promise that next season, he will be able to make an even bigger impact on the Premier League.

Sunday will prove a test for the Boro defence as Didier Drogba seems to have recovered his top form after participating in the African Cup of Nations.

Nicolas Anelka will also be full of confidence after his excellent performance for France in the midweek friendly international with England, where he rounded off his display by winning the penalty that gave his side their 1-0 win.

Emanuel Pogatetz and David Wheater will be given the task of blunting the Chelsea strike force and whilst Pogatetz spoke this week of his respect for Avram Grant's side, he is also determined that Boro will make life difficult for the home team.

Pogatetz is thoroughly enjoying the responsibility of captaining the Boro and there will be no one more determined in helping his side to spring a surprise than the Austrian international.

Like Tuncay, Pogatetz was one of a number of players away on international duty this week and featured in one of the most dramatic matches as Austria raced into a three-goal advantage over Holland only to lose 4-3!

Gareth Southgate will be in charge for his seventieth league match as Boro boss and shares his captain’s belief that his players are capable of getting a result at Stamford Bridge.

The manager remembered facing Chelsea as a player back in February 2006, just seven days after a horrible 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Aston Villa that prompted a supporter to throw his season ticket in the direction of Steve McClaren.

Boro defied the odds, however, and the Riverside faithful thoroughly enjoyed a 3-0 win over Jose Mourinho's Blues.

Away from the build up to the Chelsea match, it was good to see Stewart Downing add to his England caps with his second half appearance in the Stade de France.

Downing’s display was one of the few plus points for Fabio Capello and since putting pen to paper on his new Boro deal, the winger seems to have taken his performances up an extra notch.

Stewart is the only player to have started every one of Boro's league games this season and is also the sides top scorer. George Boateng thinks that Downing is the best-left sided player available to England and few would disagree on current form.

Another plus, was the signature of reserve captain Jonathan Grounds to a new two year deal at Boro.

Grounds has worked hard this season to convince Gareth that he has a long term future at the club and the contract is a reward for the twenty year old full back's performances when called upon in first team action.

He made his debut against Liverpool at the Riverside back in January and his task is now to put pressure on Andrew Taylor for the left back slot.

My search for Boro's last win at Chelsea took me back through my old programme collection this week and eventually I found the programme dated 22 March 1975 and a 2-1 victory inspired by Alan Willey and John Craggs.

Travelling with the supporters club, it was an entirely different Stamford Bridge experience for an away fan back in the Seventies to now and thoughts of millionaires who inhabit Chelsea Village were a far cry from those who used to stand on “The Shed”!

Bernie and I will be at Stamford Bridge presenting Simply Red on Sunday from 11 until 1 as part of the build up to the game on Century Radio.

As well as our usual features, including the chance to win Sunday lunch for two at the Bluebell Hotel, Acklam Road, Middlesbrough, there will be the opportunity to win tickets to see Boro play Manchester United on April 6.

We will have a pair of tickets courtesy of Ladbrokes and a pair of executive tickets from the Hillstreet Shopping Centre in the Boro to giveaway, so listen out for the questions.

Special guests will include Craig Hignett, Dave Hodgson and former Boro goalkeeper Kelham O'Hanlon, so why not give us a call on the usual number.

We guarantee this bet

It's understandable that some people will not believe that it is possible to do this. "What's the catch?" I hear you asking. My answer to that question is that we have been publishing arbitrage bets for four seasons now and literally hundreds of people have profited from following the advice on these pages.

Only twice has our refund guarantee been triggered and that was when we did all the figures wrong and sent refunds out to those who had followed our advice and made a small loss.

Our refund guarantee works like this. If this bet doesn't work like we say it will and you end up out of pocket, we will refund your losses. Simple as that.

That means that you simply cannot lose on this, whatever happens and even if we messed up the numbers.

The only stipulation here is that you must click on the links on this page to be eligible for the refund guarantee, not that you'll be needing to claim anyway. Just enjoy the profit and stay posted for many more of these throughout the season.
