BETTING WITH BEAN 21-9-07

Well hasn't it been an interesting week in the world of football! Derby surprising Newcastle at Pride Park, Leicester City produced one of the most sporting gestures in the game ever by giving Forest a free goal and of course Jose Mourinho has resigned/was sacked from Chelsea, which has left them up the creek without a paddle.
Who knows what will happen this weekend but it is proving to be one of the most explosive unpredictable starts to football season in a long while.
Now let's get down to business. It is my job to find you the best odds for the pick of this weekend's matches. I currently have a success record of 53% so I am not doing too badly. On to this week's games!
Middlesbrough v Sunderland
We start off with the big Tees-Wear derby at the Riverside Stadium. Middlesbrough are seeking for revenge after their embarrassing 2-0 defeat at home the last time the Black Cats came down the A19. One point for Sunderland will mark the halfway mark of the points they attained last time they were in the Premiership.
I anticipate this match will be played at 100 MPH as both teams like to keep the ball on the deck. The Mackems come into the game with plenty of confidence thanks to their victory last weekend and will be looking to add to their points tally for the season.
Middlesbrough are still smarting from their 3-0 defeat to West Ham, a game Boro dominated for long periods.
I think it will be a Middlesbrough win, but by how much depends on whether Tuncay can break his duck. But this season I have been pretty accurate with most of my predictions for Sunderland. Three of them have been bang on and I have been correct about two other results. So I feel that I have divine
control of Sunderland's fate!
In that case I will go with 4-1 to Middlesbrough.
Bet365 currently have odds of 50/1 for that scoreline. If you bet with
them this weekend you can claim a £25 free bet if you are a new customer. Click

Liverpool v Birmingham
After their dreadful and docile performance at Fratton Park, Liverpool will be looking to keep up with the pace setters Arsenal by striking a victory against newly promoted Birmingham.
The Blues have been some what of a mixed bag this season. They started their season off brightly but succumbed to a 3-2 defeat at Chelsea. Yet when they played Boro they looked out of their depth in the division. Maybe it's a case of they raise their game against the big four.
Liverpool have more of a striking menace this season and Fernando Torres is proving to be a shrewd acquisition. The Reds have shown what destruction they can cause for the newly promoted sides after they hammered Derby 6-0 a couple of weeks ago.
I can see them winning comfortably, but Birmingham will put up more of a scrap. So I have settled for a 3-1 scoreline. That score has odds of 12/1 with Extrabet who are a unique bookmaker who allow you to quit while you are ahead on the in-running. Click here to find out more .
Newcastle v West Ham
An intriguing encounter looms at St James Park on Sunday lunchtime as The Magpies welcome back some friends (the majority of them on crutches however) as West Ham look to kick on from their 3-0 victory last week.
Newcastle were very poor last Monday night and will be looking to restore the Geordie faithful's confidence, whilst a victory for the Hammers could see them enter the top four. Quite a turn around from nine months ago.
I believe this will be quite an entertaining even match with both teams gaining a point in a 1-1 draw. You can get odds of 6/1 for that result with Austrian bookies Interwetten, who are currently offering a 50% bonus on your first deposit. Take advantage here!
Manchester United v Chelsea
Normally this game would be billed as the battle of the windbags. But with the sensational departure of Jose Mourinho on Thursday people will be tuning into the lunchtime kick-off too see if this is the start of the implosion of the Chelski revolution.
Sir Alex Ferguson must be thrilled to bits to have the first opportunity to take on a post-Jose Chelsea who will be naturally dejected at losing their "special one".
There have been talks about John Terry doing a rallying cry to his team-mates to do it for Jose, but I think the news will hit the team hard and it will be a comfortable victory for Manchester United. I will go with 2-0.
That has odds of 10/1 with Sky Bet , who are offering a free bet of £20 to new customers. Click to claim this offer .
My top tip for the week is a rather interesting bet with Paddy Power.
The Irish bookie are having a special on which home team will be booed off by their fans. This has to be reported by Match of the Day on either Saturday or Sunday.
Middlesbrough have odds of 10/3 when they entertain Sunderland but my top tip has to be Newcastle against West Ham. The Geordies had a bad result against Derby on Monday night, and with a few old faces back to haunt them, they could go down the tunnel with their tails between their legs.
Paddy Power is offering odds of 5/1, which in my book is free money.
That is me done for another week. And remember it's not gambling if you always win!
