The last time you heard from me, it was after a truly terrible match and I condemned mistakes made by the management in failing to bring any experience to the club.
Since then, however, we have been unbeaten and have started to play with confidence again.
I believe my points still stand but for the moment, I would like to congratulate the players and staff for turning a potentially disastrous situation around with hard work and no small amount of skill.

I write this article following the Aston Villa match. It was a match we deserved to win, despite receiving two large strokes of luck.
The Boro employ a virtual front four at times and when the players in question are on form, we are a frightening proposition.
It seems the Boro’s return to form coincides almost entirely with the return of Tuncay Sanli and it is perhaps the Turk’s ability to link midfield and attack that makes him indispensable.
Wingers Downing and Aliadiere also seem to be coming into form. Downing recently admitted that his form has been ‘up and down’ and it was becoming evident from small sections of the Riverside that they were not happy with him.
The England winger’s quality was always going to shine through though, and he seemed revitalised at both Villa and against West Ham at the Riverside.
Jeremie Aliadiere also had a quiet start to the season, failing to use his pace and stretch teams. Thankfully the Frenchman has started to come into his own and his quickness is the ideal foil for Stewart Downing on the other side.
A source of potential concern is Afonso Alves, who despite having three goals this season, has missed an awful lot of sitters and generally looks like he has a touch like a baby elephant.
Ironically, it looks like Alves has improved his all round play but often seems to be unable to score when presented with simple chances.
However, he still retains the knack of popping up in the right place at the right time and I firmly believe that his instincts as a centre forward have really improved Boro’s attacking options.
He seems to score his goals in bursts and this season has not been brilliant for him so far. But at least he is still getting involved. The goals will come.
In any case, it seems that we shall be forced to persist with Alves up front as Mido seems to have suffered a hamstring tear which may rule him out for a few weeks.
It is unfortunate that the Egyptian is out, as he is our top scorer and looked hungry for goals, as opposed to just hungry.
It was good to see Julio Arca return against West Ham. When the little Argentinean is good, he is bloody brilliant.
Arca’s close control and passing ability have the potential to be a tremendous boon to the club. Allied to the potential of Digard and the very decent recent performances by Gary O’Neil, Boro have a decent selection of players in the centre, provided that they can stay fit.
We have been decent away from home of late but that will be severely tested at Goodison Park against Everton on Sunday. The Scousers are in a pretty poor run of form but given our record against the blue half of Liverpool, it may be a tall order.
Plus, you can guarantee that the Yak will score against us. If not, then yours truly will be taking the piss out of the Toffees in Liverpool city centre. Calm down, Calm down.
