THE CRAIG SMITHSON COLUMN - INTERNATIONAL RESCUE 10-10-08
Craig Smithson
Having brushed off a shocking September and started October on a high, some Boro fans might feel slightly aggrieved that another International break has popped up to stop us in our tracks once again!
The previous one was not a welcome sight as Boro had got off to a flying start with six points from nine and Gareth got the Manager of the Month gong, only for everyone concerned to be placed on the back burner for a fortnight in early September.
The outcome was even worse as injuries to key players picked up playing for their respective countries, especially Tuncay, left us short in numbers and creativity when the Premier League re-started.
Column continues below...

And we then went and lost three on the bounce, got dumped out of the Carling Cup and were sat fifth-bottom going into the new month.
Then, low and behold, we go and do a bit of coupon busting at Wigan on Saturday and once again an International break is upon us!
However, this time I feel that the timing of the World Cup qualifiers has actually done the Boro a big favour!
Let’s be honest, we struggled to create much at Wigan and the late win seemed more down to the football gods trying to even up the score as we have been mugged on numerous occasions already this term.
Chelsea are up next and by that time, we could have Tuncay back in contention. Robert Huth may also be closer to a comeback from his ankle trouble whilst Emanuel Pogatetz will be able to get some match fitness playing for Austria as he waits to complete his three-match ban.
As for the rest of the squad who are not on international duty, they can have a well earned rest following a hectic month which has seen them almost consistently on the road at Portsmouth, Sunderland, Manchester and Wigan.
The fact that our next opponents are Chelsea is also a big boost, given the fact that nearly all of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s first-team squad will be playing two international games on Saturday and Wednesday week.
So a few injuries and jet-lagged Chelsea boys lining up for an early kick-off (cheers Sky) could swing things further in our favour!
So having slated the timing of these international fixtures last month, come the start of November, I will hopefully be firing off a few thank you cards in the direction of FIFA!

Here's how it's done. Just follow these simple instructions.
1. Open an account with Paddy Power.
Open an account with Bet On Bet.

4. Here's what happens at the end of the game. All winnings are paid out on the ninety minute result.

5. This means that the worst case scenario on the Spain U21 v Germany U21 match is Spain U21 win and you make £45.20 profit. However, if Germany U21 win you make £47.50 profit and if it is a draw you make £46.00 profit. That's a minimum profit of over 50%, a much better rate of interest than you would get at any high street bank or building society.
6. It is absolutely vital that you click on the links on this page to open the accounts with the three bookies or you may not qualify for the
bonuses/free bets.
Also, before you place your bets, you should check that the odds haven't changed. If they have, let us know by mail or phone us on 01642 223229 and we will rework the bet
for you.
There is a wagering requirement at Bet 24. You have to roll your winnings over before we can withdraw them but it is very easy to do this risk-free. If Germany U21 win, please contact us and we'll show you exactly how to do this. Winnings from the other two bookies are immediately withdrawable.
Please feel free to contact us or phone us on 01642 223229 if you have any questions at all about this bet and we will help you as much as we can.
Please note that the bonuses are valid for new customers only so if you already have an account with one or more of the bookies we are using, you
won't be able to do this. If that is the case, mail
us or phone us on 01642 223229 and we'll create an alternative bet for you using different bookies.
This method of betting was used very successfully during the 2006 World Cup and you can read all about how it was done right here.
We guarantee this bet
It's understandable that some people will not believe that it is possible to do this. "What's the catch?" I hear you asking. My answer to that
question is that this is the fifth season that we have been publishing these kind of bets and literally hundreds of people have profited from
following the advice on these pages.
Only twice has our refund guarantee been triggered and that was when we did all the figures wrong and sent refunds out to those who had followed our
advice and made a small loss.
Our refund guarantee works like this. If this bet doesn't work like we say it will and you end up out of pocket, we will refund your losses. Simple as that.
That means that you simply cannot lose on this, whatever happens and even if we messed up the numbers, which is highly unlikely.
The only stipulation here is that you must click on the links on this page to be eligible for the refund guarantee, not that you'll be needing to
claim anyway. Just enjoy the profit and stay posted for many more of these next season.
