A WAY THROUGH THIS - STOKE CITY 30-8-08
Jonathan Way

Now it gets tricky...

After a fine performance at Anfield and a fantastic thrashing of Yeovil in midweek, Boro will be on a high coming into this tricky clash with the newly promoted side.

Stoke themselves have had a mixed start to the season with a 3-1 defeat to Bolton on the opening day, followed by a 90th minute winner against Villa last Saturday at the Britannia Stadium. Knowing that they will also be in the hat for Saturday’s Carling Cup draw, Stoke will certainly think that they can get something out of their trip to the Riverside.

Ross Turnbull v Thomas Sorensen

After stepping in at the last minute to cover Jones’ dislocated finger, Rossy put in 2 fine displays against Liverpool and Yeovil during the last week. He made a couple of fine saves at Anfield but could not have done anything to stop Liverpool’s late robbery.

At the other end of the pitch on Saturday we’ll see one of Middlesbrough’s longest summer transfer targets. After joining new boys Stoke and stating that he wanted to prove Martin O’Neill wrong by dropping him, Sorensen would have loved to have seen O’Neill at the final whistle last week and asked him what the score was.

Robert Huth v Abdoulaye Faye

A fantastic display against Liverpool saw Huth preventing both Keane and Torres from getting a single shot on target. If he puts these kinds of performances in every week for the Boro back line then Ross and Jonesey will have a very easy season in the Boro goal.

Since his return to the Premier League, the former barcode put in an impressive man of the match performance in his first start for Stoke last weekend. Let us just hope that was a one off and he plays like he did for the Geordies and has a nightmare at the weekend against the Boro’s frontline.

Didier Digard v Rory Delap

Since joining Boro for £4 million in the summer, Digard has shown some real quality. It looks like we have found a great replacement for George with the only difference being that Didier looks to have better shooting boots, as he showed us with his great goal against Yeovil in the Carling cup.

Not only could we be facing former Geordies at the weekend but also former Mackams. After recovering from his horrific injury on his debut for Stoke in 2006, Delap has become a main starter for Stoke. Known for his twelve yard throw-ins, Boro better make sure that what happened to Newcastle in midweek against Coventry (in the ninety third minute) does not happen on Saturday.

Mido v Dave Kitson

I must say, Mido has been true to his word since saying, at the start of the season, that he will be back to his best, by scoring two in two. I just hope that we are not seeing a repeat of last season, in which again he scored 2 goals in his first 2 games and then that was the end of him for the season.

After jumping ship from relegated Reading to promoted Stoke, the ginger hitman will be hoping to start off his goal tally as soon as possible. If Pulis does not see a good performance from the 28- year- old then he may be starting to regret splashing out £5 million on the man who scored fifty four goals for Reading in the five years he was there.

This will be an interesting game to watch, to see which Boro turn up on the day. Will we see the old Boro in which most of the time we play poorly and get beat? Or hopefully, will we see an improved Boro who put in a professional performance and pick up all three points?

Prediction: With both sides on a high from midweek, we should see good performances from both teams. With Boro wanting to do what they are expected to do and win, and Stoke knowing they have to beat the teams around them in order to survive, I just hope Boro can nick it at the end and come away with a 2-1 win.

Come On Boro!

4. Here's what happens at the end of the game. All winnings are paid out on the ninety minute result.

If Arsenal win, you collect £154.60. That's £129.60 from Sky Bet plus a £25.00 cashback from Betfair.

If Manchester City win you collect £155.00. That's £130.00 from Extrabet plus a £25.00 cashback from Betfair.

5. This means that the worst case scenario on the Manchester City v Arsenal match is Arsenal win and you make £43.60 profit. However, if Manchester City win you make £44.00 and if it's a draw win you make £45.86. That's a minimum profit of 39%, a much better rate of interest that you would get at any high street bank or building society.

We guarantee this bet

It's understandable that some people will not believe that it is possible to do this. "What's the catch?" I hear you asking. My answer to that question is that this is the fifth season that we have been publishing arbitrage bets and literally hundreds of people have profited from following the advice on these pages.

Only twice has our refund guarantee been triggered and that was when we did all the figures wrong and sent refunds out to those who had followed our advice and made a small loss.

Our refund guarantee works like this. If this bet doesn't work like we say it will and you end up out of pocket, we will refund your losses. Simple as that.

That means that you simply cannot lose on this, whatever happens and even if we messed up the numbers.

The only stipulation here is that you must click on the links on this page to be eligible for the refund guarantee, not that you'll be needing to claim anyway. Just enjoy the profit and stay posted for many more of these throughout the season.
