With another decent performance against Manchester United under his belt, Jones is starting to find his feet between the Boro sticks. Being told by his manager this week that he and Turnbull are playing for their futures, Brad will be hoping that he is on top form today to show Southgate just how good he is.
Another one of Boro’s summer transfer targets will no doubt start for West Brom at the Riverside. After Mowbray won the race to sign the young England goalkeeper, he has been an absolute bargain at £3.25million.
David Wheater v Gianni Zuiverloon

Lining up against Afonso is one of his ex-team mates from Heerenveen -Gianni. The twenty-one year old central defender was a £3.2million summer signing for West Brom and he made his debut last weekend against Villa. If he’s anything like Alves going forward then he’s surely one to watch out for.
Adam Johnson v Jonathan Greening
After a fantastic strike and performance against the Red Devils on Tuesday, Johnson should be included in the starting line up today. Following his frustration by the lack of first team inclusion, the Academy graduate must rightfully be more highly thought of now by his gaffer.
The Middlesbrough 2002/03 Club Player Of The Year returns to his former home with the team who bought him for £1.25million in the summer 2004. Whilst on Teesside for three seasons, Greening was a regular starter who capped ninety-nine appearances with four goals.
Afonso Alves v James Morrison
After bizarrely being dropped to the bench for the Sunderland match - originally - Alves must start for the Boro as he is one of our only fully fit strikers. We need to be putting away our chances more and by starting the Fonz each game, this will be the best chance of us doing that.

With him saying in midweek that he has a point to prove and the fact that he is becoming a big hit in the Midlands, Mozza will be the biggest danger man for the Baggies today.
In Gareth’s 100th game in charge of the Boro, he is surely going to have to turn results around if he wants to retain his Manager of the Month award.
If the stats are anything to go by, then Boro should grab the three points in this clash. We are unbeaten at home this season and have only lost once to West Brom in twenty-five years, home and away.
Prediction: This will no doubt be a hard game for both sides in which they will scrap for everything. If Boro rid the plague of missed chances, which have cost them the past couple of games, then Southgate will get one over on Mowbray with a 2-0 victory.
