A WAY THROUGH THIS - ASTON VILLA 8-11-08
Jonathan Way

Being unbeaten in our last three games...

Middlesbrough will be travelling to Villa Park in confident mood. Gaining eight points from our previous five games has moved us up the table and into eighth place. I’m sure that no Boro fan would have a problem if we were to remain there for the rest of the season.

Aston Villa come into this clash off the back of their 1-0 victory over Slavia Prague in midweek. Let’s hope, just like our League form in the 2005/06 season dipped when we were in Europe, that Villa have the same vein of form or otherwise we will be in for a tough game.

Column continues below...

Brad Friedel v Ross Turnbull

Leaving Ewood Park in the summer after eight years of service, Friedel completed a £2.5million move to Aston Villa. Being one of the greatest keepers the League has ever seen, it won’t be easy for us to put away many of our chances come Sunday.

After putting in some outstanding performances in recent games, I wouldn’t blame Gareth if he sticks with Turnbull for the remainder of the season. With the fantastic save he made against City preventing Wright-Phillips and the incredible double save last Saturday against West Ham, let’s hope that this form stays with the twenty-three year old for many games to come.

Luke Young v Chris Riggott

Much to the disappointment of many Boro fans, Young left the club in August for an estimated £6million. Many could say that this was not bad business baring in mind we bought him for £2.5million the previous year. However, we all know how much of a quality player Luke can be. Just over a year ago, we saw what he is capable of as he scored an absolute screamer against Tottenham.

Since stepping in for the injured Huth nearly a month ago, Riggott has capped some solid performances which surely have cemented his place in the team. Facing Carew and Agbonlahor will not be an easy task for the twenty-eight year old as he looks to help guide Boro to their third clean sheet of the season.

James Milner v Stewart Downing

Going to St. James’s Park on Monday night and being defeated 2-0 by his former club would not have been what Milner had in mind. The former England under-21 player who made nearly 100 League appearances for the Mags has already made a good impression on his return to Villa Park, starting every League game so far this season.

Downing's admission this week that he has been unhappy with his form this campaign is encouraging news for all Boro fans as we wait to see the best from our second longest serving player. I believe that Downing’s form will return as he looks to move closer to 200 League appearances for his home town club.

Gabriel Agbonlahor v Mido

Currently the third top scorer in the League, Agbonlahor is having one hell of a season. Since scoring the second fastest League hat-trick in the Premiership on the first day of the season, Gabriel is forming one of the best partnerships in the League with John Carew as Villa’s strike force.

Scoring our equaliser against the Hammers last weekend was a brilliant return from injury for Mido. If the facts are right - Mido scores a goal every 108 minutes - then unfortunately it isn’t expected for him to get on the score sheet against Villa. However, he does provide a big presence and plays a key role in the Boro attack.

This is possibly our hardest game so far this season against a club outside the famous top four. This will be a real test as to how good we are.

With Villa in fifth and with nineteen goals to their name, it’s clear to see why they are the favourites to break into the top four.

If we can take advantage of their match in midweek and get Tuncay to run them ragged, then I don’t see why we can’t sneak this game 1-0.

Come On Boro!

We guarantee this bet

It's understandable that some people will not believe that it is possible to do this. "What's the catch?" I hear you asking. My answer to that question is that this is the fifth season that we have been publishing these kind of bets and literally hundreds of people have profited from following the advice on these pages.

Only twice has our refund guarantee been triggered and that was when we did all the figures wrong and sent refunds out to those who had followed our advice and made a small loss.

Our refund guarantee works like this. If this bet doesn't work like we say it will and you end up out of pocket, we will refund your losses. Simple as that.

That means that you simply cannot lose on this, whatever happens and even if we messed up the numbers, which is highly unlikely.

The only stipulation here is that you must click on the links on this page to be eligible for the refund guarantee, not that you'll be needing to claim anyway. Just enjoy the profit and stay posted for many more of these next season.
