The book’s foreword is provided by Boro captain Emanuel Pogatetz, who is also the subject of a chapter full of offbeat humour titled ‘What Happened to Pogi’s Head?’
‘Teesside Urban Legends’ allows readers to discover how, courtesy of a misunderstanding with the workings of the Transporter Bridge, comedian Terry Scott almost came to an untimely death in the murky depths of the River Tees.
They can read about long-lost tales from Teesside’s industrial age of ICI and British Steel.
Was it really true that Alex Higgins and Charlie Kray were once regulars in the area?
