THE ComeOnBoro.com 888 PACIFIC POKER TOURNAMENT

The second ComeOnBoro.com 888 Pacific Poker tournament was played out on Friday 6th October 2005.

Reigning champion GETSMART took a breather this time round and relinquished his title. The opportunity to lift the trophy would go to someone else, along with a fistful of dollars to celebrate what could be a famous win.

The stakes were doubled for tournament number two but it must be said that this is not about the money at all. It's about who gets the bragging rights.

It's also about North v South as well, or Middlesbrough v Tottenham to be more precise. MIUPOKER v SG036.

The players settled in for the long haul but the audience had barely had time to settle before the first blood was drawn, MIUPOKER scoring big with pairs on the table on two consecutive hands.

But SG036 won six hands on the trot without showing his cards and an agitated MIUPOKER staked everything on hand number eight. It was too rich for the Northerner who didn't take the bait with a possible full house showing.

MIUPOKER wasn't so brave on the next two hands and was drawn in to a bit of slow play before the killer punch was landed on hand number eleven.

The flop was random but MIUPOKER bet $200 and was raised. He raised back, was raised again and re-raised for a third time before being seen. The turn and river produced nothing special but MIUPOKER was still going for it.

But SG036 raised him $488 meaning he had to go all in, which he duly did. SG036 threw a full house on to the green matting and that was it. It was all over after three minutes and eleven hands and the championship had stayed in Middlesbrough.
