It's the 'glamour trip' of the season tomorrow and Boro go into it having restored only a very small sense of pride with the draw at Villa on Wednesday. 'Black Sunday' still hurts and will do for some time.
Even an unlikely win against the Gunners will not fully repair the damage from 'Black Sunday' and Boro fans want to know what action is being taken in the aftermath of our FA Cup suicide?.
The silence from the very top has been too loud but as someone who is in tune with the supporter base, Mr Gibson will surely not dwell too much longer before revealing his recovery plan. He knows he can contact us at any time when he has a message ready for the fans.
Boro have nine games to play during the remainder of this dreadful season. Three wins will almost certainly give us enough points to stay up.
But after 'Black Sunday', that will still be a mammoth task for this group of players. The Sword of Damocles hangs over every one of them and and after such a monumental disater against Cardiff, it is hard to imagine there not being casualties.
