Isaiah Osbourne could make his debut for Boro at Crystal Palace. The new loan signing trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Thursday.

Marcus Bent could also start after impressing as a second half substitute against Plymouth last weekend.

Andrew Taylor and Chris Riggott both played in the reserves last week and are pushing their way into the squad. Taylor is more likely to feature than Riggott.

Emanuel Pogatetz will be out for a further six weeks after fracturing his cheekbone in his first game since returning from injury against Plymouth.

Meanwhile, Jeremie Aliadiere (ankle surgery), Seb Hines (knee), Caleb Folan (hamstring) and Matthew Bates (cruciate ligament) are all out.

Paddy McCarthy will be Crystal Palace's major absentee for the Championship clash against Boro.

He has missed the last two matches after damaging the shoulder he had surgery on at the start of the year. This means that Jose Fonte and Claude Davis are likely to play at the back again.

Freddie Sears may start after coming on at half-time against QPR in mid-week. His recovery from a groin injury appears to have been successful.

Calvin Andrew (knee) will sit out whilst Lee Hills and Darryl Flahavan have been loaned out to Oldham.
