Scott Carson could make his competitive debut for England in the crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia on Wednesday night.

Carson started Friday night's friendly in Austria, but had little to do on his full international debut.

England boss Steve McClaren said last week he had already made is mind up about who would play in goal on Wednesday, suggesting that Paul Robinson would be his choice.

However, various newspapers report Robinson had an error-strewn training session on Monday, leaving McClaren apparently tempted to start with the on-loan Aston Villa goalkeeper instead of Robinson.

Indeed, The Independent reports several of the England squad 'raved' about Carson's performance in training, and that could influence McClaren's decision making.
