FULHAM v BORO - BETTING ZONE PREVIEW
By Ben Linfoot
Fulham have won five out of the last six league fixtures against Middlesbrough at Craven Cottage, while Boro very much have the upper hand in the reverse fixture.
History says these teams are evenly matched, and they are certainly of similar ilk given they are both likely to finish mid-table, with a tendency to flirt more with relegation than with the upper echelons of the league ladder.
This is likely to be a tight encounter, and while Fulham are the more likely winners just because they have home advantage, they don't appeal as a betting proposition at skinny prices around 5/4.
There are normally goals in this fixture (13 in the last four), and it could be worth chancing that Stewart Downing gets the first.
He signalled his intent for the season with the opening strike against Blackburn, and he looks by far the most likely Boro midfielder to back-up the efforts of Yakubu and Jeremie Aliadiere.
That isn't reflected in his price, as he is 16/1 to find the net first with Bet365 - and they offer 1/3 the price and unlimited goals in their excellent each-way terms.
Verdict: Fulham 2 Middlesbrough 2
