MIDDLESBROUGH v ASTON VILLA - THE VILLA FANS' VIEW
By Ken, Admin of the AVFC Fans Forum

If there is one club us Villa fans don't want to see relegated then it's Boro as we look forward to our annual encounters with the ex-pat Villans.

You've nicked a few from us over the years and at a cut rate price too. Steve Gibson must have had a few discount vouchers left over from Tesco.

So this week we meet again. We are now more of a force than we were under the last few years of O'Dreary's reign so we expect to get a result tomorrow. In fact it's a ritual win now - we have won seven out of the last twelve visits to the Riverside.

We've also scored more goals against you in the Premier league than any other club - forty-four in fact. I'm not blowing our very large and loud trumpet, just quoting facts.

It might not be as easy as we think though. You've drawn your last two games so our quest to win three in a row might not be a formality.

One thing we're glad to see these days is Gareth Southgate on the touchline, instead of on the pitch. We dreaded him going up for a corner.

Now with that haircut he looks like a hippy but I'm sure he'll will whip your lads into shape and send you reeling up the league.

Good luck on Saturday but not too much - just enough not to concede too many goals. I'm sure whatever the result, it'll be a very good game. The mighty Villa are in town so it's to be expected.

I'll take my tongue out of my cheek now and get a bet on Villa to win 2-0.
