MILLWALL v MIDDLESBROUGH CHARITY MATCH
By Jasemfc

It's that time again!! I'm in the process of arranging another Millwall v Boro match in aid of the Finlay Cooper Fund. I have been lucky enough to secure The Home of Football... The Den! (Don't laugh) for the third match in recent years.

This game will be a little different to previous games as Colin Cooper will captain the Boro team and former Millwall manager and Captain Alan McLeary will captain the Millwall side. The idea is that to secure your place you will bid to play alongside your former Heroes.

Andy Walker, who is the chairman of the Middlesbrough Supporters Club South, will be running things from the Boro perspective and I'll be picking up things at the Millwall end.

As in previous matches the idea is to raise as much as possible for the Finlay Cooper Fund. We will have the use of Millwall's ground and the executive lounge afterwards.

Obviously some of you guys may not be able to travel all the way down to the Den on a Friday, however I thought it was only right that I give you all the details on the game as you have been so supportive of the previous games.

The Kick off is 12:30pm on the Friday with food and drinks available in the executive lounge afterwards. There will be some Millwall and Boro bits up for auction/raffle as normal and again all proceeds will go to the Finlay Cooper Fund.

Once things start taking off I'll give you more details. Andy Walker is also trying to secure the services of Boro fan and ex-ref Jeff Winter to officiate the game.

If any of you Boro fans are interested in playing in this game drop me an email and I'll happily pass your details on to Andy. Obviously if you have Andy's details already then by all means contact him directly.

Hopefully a couple of you guys will be able to play or if not come along and help raise some much needed money for a charity set up by Coops. You may also want to avenge your heavy defeat from the last game, which, if my memory serves me correctly, was 5-0 to the Lions.

The Finlay Cooper Cup is still sitting proudly in the Millwall Supporters Club.

See you soon.
